Resilience to Disinformation among Displaced Armenians in the Pre-Election Context

Period: April 15 2026 – October 15 2026

Donor organization: People in Need NGO Representative Office in Armenia

Implementer: Media Diversity Institute

Project Objective: The project aims to strengthen the resilience of Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh to disinformation, foreign information manipulation and interference (FIMI) ahead of the 2026 parliamentary elections, while also promoting responsible, ethical, and conflict-sensitive media coverage of their issues.

Within the framework of the project, the following activities are planned:

  • identify and analyze disinformation narratives targeting displaced communities;
  • strengthen the media literacy and advocacy skills of community leaders and activists;
  • support journalists in the responsible coverage of vulnerable groups;
  • promote constructive dialogue between communities, media, and civil society organizations.

As a result of the project, an analytical report on FIMI manifestations and narrative risks will be prepared; community representatives and journalists will be trained; joint media products will be developed; and a policy dialogue will be organized around recommendations for protection against manipulative narratives.

The project will be implemented in the Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik, and Tavush regions of Armenia.
