Shielding Armenian Democracy

Period: April 1 2026 – May 31 2027

Donor Organization: Prague Civil Society Center

Implementer: Media Diversity Institute

The project aims to strengthen Armenia’s resilience against foreign information manipulation and interference, disinformation, and cybersecurity threats through a combination of analytical monitoring and practical support for civil society and media actors. Implemented by the Media Diversity Institute (MDI), the project brings together two complementary components aimed at improving both the understanding of manipulative information campaigns and the digital security capacities of organizations operating in Armenia’s information environment.

  • The first component focuses on monitoring foreign information manipulation and interference across major social media platforms, including Facebook, TikTok, Telegram, and YouTube. Findings will be compiled into regular analytical monitoring reports and disseminated to a broad network of civil society organizations and media stakeholders.
  • The second component, implemented through the CyberHUB-AM initiative, will strengthen the cybersecurity resilience of Armenian civil society organizations and media actors through rapid incident response, technical support, cybersecurity risk assessments, and targeted trainings on digital security, AI-related risks, fact-checking, and countering disinformation.

Through these combined efforts, the project aims to support a safer and more resilient information ecosystem in Armenia by equipping journalists, media professionals, and civil society organizations with both the analytical tools and technical capacities needed to respond to evolving information and cybersecurity threats.
