Building Resilience and Responsiveness to Digital Security Threats in the Eastern Partnership Countries

Period: January 1 2025 – December 31 2025

Donor Organization: Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL)

Implementer: Media Diversity Institute

Partner organization: MDI-London

The project’s overarching goal is to provide direct support to digital security providers who protect vulnerable populations, civil society groups, and independent media from digital attacks aimed at preventing these groups from exercising their human rights and fundamental freedoms. In order to work towards this goal, the partners have embraced the following three objectives:

Project Objective 1: The continuous professional development of DigiSec providers is assured.

The project will promote a mutual learning culture within the DigiSec community, recognizing that its potential to provide adequate protections to vulnerable groups relies largely on its ability to stay ahead of the curve and provide early warning of incipient threats.

Project Objective 2: The DigiSec community in the target region is strengthened and expanded.

The project will act as an incubator for identifying transnational threats and devising effective and timely solutions. This will be achieved by mobilizing digital security providers from different countries to pool expertise and resources in response to specific trends and patterns.

Project Objective 3: Vulnerable populations, civil society groups, and independent media have sustained access to a pool of highly skilled experts, up-to-date resources, and rapid response mechanisms.

A Virtual Regional Resource Hub will ensure that beneficiaries can tap into expertise from across the region as well as apply for Assistance Grants that enable them to action recommendations made by DigiSec specialists.
